ITINERARY

Day 1 | Arrive in Glasgow

Upon arrival from your scheduled flight (not included) you are transferred to the picturesque Loch Sunart and the Kilcamb Hotel. Check in and refresh before meeting fellow travellers for a welcome drink and dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 2 | NC’Nean distillery

Whisky making in Scotland traces its history back to the 11th Century when winemaking methods spread from Monasteries in Europe to Scotland. Traditionally the domain of males, we are visiting NC’Nean distillery today started and developed by Annabel Thomas.

Annabel started Nc’nean to change the way the world thinks about whisky from Scotland. Her mission was to create a whisky which could exist in harmony with this planet we call home. After leaving her job in London in 2013, she spent four years raising funds and building the distillery from the ground up on the west coast of Scotland. We’ve been distilling since 2017 and in 2020 we launched our first ever whisky.

Today we visit the distillery and learn first hand about the way it is made and the elements involved. Trying a “wee dram” is of course par of the course. After our visit we enjoy lunch at the Whitehouse Restaurant at Lochaline. We return to the hotel and the remainder of the afternoon is free. Dinner is available at the hotel restaurant this evening.

Day 3 | Fly Glasgow to Reykjavik

Our day begins with a transfer to Glasgow Airport, where our private chartered aircraft awaits to take us to Reykjavik, Iceland. We'll enjoy the comfortable flight and then check into the stylish Reykjavik Edition Hotel. To cap off the day, we'll embark on a culinary adventure, exploring the vibrant Icelandic food scene and sampling local delicacies under expert guidance.

Day 4 | Inside the Volcano

This morning we are picked up for a unique experience when we travel to Thrihnukagigur volcano. After our drive and short hike we arrive at the volcano. Following a full safety briefing we slowly make our way into the volcano, the cable lift take us down by 120 metres from where you can observe the colourful lava rock walls. Iceland is of course known as a land of “fire and ice” and the volcano is a unique way to gain a better understanding of the natural phenomena. We return to Reykjavik where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 | Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon Retreat

The Golden Circle is one of Iceland’s key attractions allowing to experience many of its natural wonders during one comprehensive trip and you will spend your time encountering a cross-section of Iceland's natural wonders and geological phenomena at Thingvellir National Park, an area of historical and geological significance. Furthermore, a visit to Iceland most famous waterfall, Gullmoss, will mean great opportunities for creating memories. The incredible sight of geyser is on display when you visit Geysir Geothermal Park.

Following our tour we make our way to The Retreat at the world famous Blue Lagoon. Our retreat for two nights allows you to enjoy the healing and energising properties of the Blue Lagoon, the water as well as the range of massages. It all starts with the “ritual” to prepare you for two nights of pampering and relaxation in bare foot chic.

Day 6 | The Retreat

Today you share in the Icelandic secret of wellbeing. You can swim in the warm blue waters of the lagoon, enjoy a hot stone sauna and if you have never experienced a water massage this is your chance. A light lunch is served and afternoon tea is available to complement a day of relaxation and indulgence.

Day 7 | Iceland to Greenland

One of the last great wildernesses of our World, Greenland isn’t easy to reach however our privately chartered aircraft will fly us directly to Ilulissat. Upon arrival we are met by our host for the next 3 nights, Tupernas Davidsen.

Throughout your visit, your personal host will be taking care of you. Our hosts call Greenland their home and will make sure you get a lifetime experience, but also tell you about what it's like to live in Greenland. After a orientation walk of the town we check in at Hotel Ilulissat. The remainder of the afternoon is free before we meet for dinner at Hotel Hvide Falk. The restaurant combines fresh Greenlandic ingredients with trends from Asian cuisine.

Day 8 | Hike to Sermermiut in Ilulissat

Time to put on your best walking shoes as we explore the area by foot this morning. Most of the trail follows the shore of the ice fjord, which is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we have an incredible view of the impressive icebergs. We will pass historical Sermermiut, where Inuits have lived for more than 4,000 years. During the tour, our experienced guide will explain to you how the ice impacts the area, Sermermiut, and the history and culture of this incredible place. Your guide will adjust the pace of the hike and the number of rests to the group. This afternoon we visit the Ice Fjord Centre. The shape of the building is inspired by the wingspan of the snowy owl when it is in flight through the landscape.

This evening we join a private boat to travel among the icebergs on the lookout for humpback whales. The humpback whale is the whale we usually see in Disko Bay, and it is easily recognizable on the beautiful tail. To experience these giants of the sea at close range is almost a spiritual experience that overwhelms many.

Day 9 | Oqaatsut

Join us for an adventurous day trip to Oqaatsut where we combine sailing, kayaking, and hiking. Our tour starts with a boat trip among the icebergs along the coastline from Ilulissat to Oqaatsut. When we arrive in Oqaatsut you will change to our top-quality Kokatat kayak suits before heading out into the water in kayaks. We paddle our way through the bay of Oqaatsut and arrive at the shore where we will make a stop and take a small hike to one of the backcountry’s lakes and waterfall. At this incredible viewpoint, we will enjoy some coffee before heading back out into the kayaks. We will sail around the bay and end at Restaurant H8 Explore where lunch will be served.

After lunch, you will have time to walk around and explore the settlement before the boat takes us back to Ilulissat. It will be our final dinner together this evening, enjoying Greenlandic Cuisine at Brasserie Ulo, we share food and share the memories made and precious time spend together.
